Yolanda Calderon is a native of Colorado and is thrilled to be teaching her 6th year at Vista PEAK Exploratory. Ms. Calderon attended Metropolitan State University of Denver and holds a BM in Music Performance and a BME in Music education, she is currently pursuing a MA from Regis University. Ms. Calderon has been awarded several music scholarships as well as being one of the first Rachel B Noel scholars. Ms. Calderon has performed as the principal flutist of DYAO on their concert tour of South America and on National Public Radio as well as a features soloist with the Metro State Wind Ensemble.
In addition to her performance resume she was also awarded 2007 Young Philanthropist of the Year by the Rocky Mountain MS Center. When Ms. Calderon is not in school she enjoys spending time with her family, studying languages and training Capoeira.
