A little about me:
I am a Colorado Native and grew up in Arvada. I went to college at the University of Evansville (Indiana), and then graduated from Metro State with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Special Education. I met my husband while working at Carrabba’s Italian Grill. We actually went to high school together, but didn’t meet until college. I taught first, second, and sixth grade until I had my daughter in 2002. I was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom while my two children were little. During this time, I was very active in the MOMS Club of Parker, holding many board positions including President. My biggest accomplishment was organizing a silent auction/luncheon raising over $13,500 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation which helped three Parker children. I returned to education when my children were in school, teaching kindergarten, first and fifth grade. I have a 16 year old girl, Aubrey, a 14 year old boy, Jackson, a husband of 20 years, Scott, and a dog, Cooper. I enjoy camping, hiking, skiing, scrapbooking, watching our children play, and dinner/movie dates.
I believe that every student can learn. My job is to figure out what they know, how they learn, and what tools they need to move forward. This is a partnership between your child, you as parents and myself. I will take your child from where they are and move them at least one year ahead. My biggest goal this year is for your child to enjoy learning the scientific process through rigorous engaging real life experiences. With confidence now, they will be able to soar in the future! Thank you for entrusting your child with me. I am looking forward to a great year! I will communicate with you mostly via email.
I will communicate with you mostly via email. I will check email each day that we have school. If you would like me to call you, please send me an email with a number I can reach you. How can you support your child’s learning? Talk to your child at home about what they are learning at school. If they can teach you what they learned, they really understand it. Encourage them to make connections and allow them time to dive deeper into new learning. Make time for family time and daily outside activities too! Please come to me with any questions or concerns, as you know your child best. We are working as a team to help your child move forward.
Student + Parent + Teacher = SUCCESS!! The Bridge Starts Here!!
