Amy Kolquist – Principal

Amy Kolquist is currently serving in her first year as principal at Vista Peak Exploratory P-8. She came to
Aurora Public schools after serving as a member of the administration team of Fort Logan Northgate 3-8
in Sheridan, Colorado, where she served as assistant principal for six years. Before coming to Sheridan,
Amy was a member of the team that opened Noel Community Arts School in Denver Public Schools,
serving as the dean of students and was also a middle school language arts teacher for ten years in both
DPS and Jefferson County. Graduating from University of Colorado at Boulder with a bachelor’s in
communication, Amy earned her master’s in curriculum and instruction from Colorado Christian
University and completed her principal licensure program at University of Colorado at Denver. Her
passion to ensure all students receive an outstanding education and are empowered to be contributing
and confident members of their community drives Amy’s work and love for education. When not
working, she loves spending time with her husband and two incredible step-children, hiking the
Colorado mountains with her three dogs, and doing as much reading and writing as she can find spare
time for!
